Parramatta River Restoration Project

on July 7, 2025

Urban Asset Solutions, led by NSW State Manager Aaron Beale, played a key role in the ambitious revitalisation of the Parramatta River aimed at making it swimmable and ecologically healthy by 2025. In collaboration with the Parramatta City Council, the team tackled decades of pollution and sediment across an 8,000 m² cleanup zone.

The project removed over 40 megalitres of water and 445 tonnes of debris including trolleys, bikes, and tyres, using specialised equipment like spider excavators. Key infrastructure was maintained to improve flow and reduce flood risks, with all waste responsibly disposed of.

Aligned with the PRCG’s Ten Steps to a Living River Masterplan, the project supports biodiversity, community engagement, and cultural respect through collaboration with First Nations groups.

Urban Asset Solutions remains committed to the river’s long-term health through ongoing monitoring and environmentally responsible practices.
